Week November 13-17, 2017

Students will graph linear equations on Monday and Tuesday of this week. Wednesday of this week students will begin graphing linear inequalities and shading the area on the graph that contains all solutions. The end of the week students will be introduced to Quadratic graphs and their properties. A quiz will be given after each topic is covered.

Week November 6-10, 2017

Students will write linear equations is standard form on Monday. Tuesday, students will learn to write linear equations in slope-intercept form that are parallel or perpendicular to another line. Wednesday is review for Unit 5 TEST. UNIT 5 TEST will be Thursday of this week. Friday will be test correction day.

Week of October 30- November 3

Students will write and graph linear equations in slope-intercept form on Monday and Tuesday. A quiz will follow each section. On Wednesday and Thursday students will begin writing equations in point-slope form and changing point-slope form to y-intercept form. A quiz will follow. Friday of this week students will graph equations using intercepts and write equations in standard form.

Week October 23-27, 2017

Monday students will review for Unit 4 Test. Tuesday of this week is Unit 4 test day. The rest of the week students will be working on finding slopes of graphs, equations and any given two points. They will also be learning how to determine if an equation represents a direct variation or not. On Friday of this week, students will be introduced to the slope-intercept form of an equation. Quizzes will be given after each topic is covered to check for student understanding.

Week October 16-20, 2017

Students will be looking at patterns and Nonlinear functions, writing function rules, finding domain and range of functions and determining if a relation is a function or not. Students will review for a Test on Thursday and take the Test on Friday of this week.

Week October 2-6, 2017

Students will look at patterns and linear functions along with patterns and nonlinear functions. They will be able to represent the relationship using words, an equation, and a graph. Wednesday - Friday students will graph and write a function rule. Quizzes will be given after each topic is covered and homework (classwork) is completed.

Week September 25-29, 2017

Monday and Tuesday of this week students will work on unit conversions: time, metric and units of measurements. On Wednesday students will be introduced to algebraic functions. They will look at relating to quantities from a graph or table and look for patterns to determine if the function is linear or nonlinear.

Week September 18-22, 2017

Students will continue working with inequalities this week. They will solve and graph compound inequalities with a quiz after a worksheet. Students will also solve absolute value equations along with solving and graphing absolute value inequalities. Thursday will be a review day for solving all types of inequalities. Friday students will have Unit 3 Test over inequalities.

Week September 11-15, 2017

Students will learn how to solve inequality equations by using division and multiplication. They will also learn how to solve and graph multi-step inequality equations, compound inequality equations, absolute value equations and absolute value inequalities. A quiz will be given after each topic is practiced.

Week September 4-8, 2017

Monday is a holiday. Tuesday students will review for Unit 2 Test: solving equations. Wednesday is Unit 2 Test day. Thursday and Friday of this week students will begin learning how to solve and graph inequality equations. A quiz will be given after each new topic is covered.

Week August 28-September 1, 2017

This week is a continuation of last week. We are solving equations. Last week we solved 1 step, 2 step and multi-step equations. On Friday of last week we began looking at multi-step equations with the variable on both sides of the equal sign. This week we will continue solving equations with the variable on both sides of the equal sign. we will also solve proportional equations and literal equations this week. After each different type of solving equations there will be a quiz to check for understanding. On Friday, September 1, 2017, there will be a TEST on Solving all types of Equations.

Week of August 14-18, 2017

Students will quiz on Verbal and Algebraic expressions Monday. Topics of learning the rest of the week will be Real Numbers and their properties; adding, subtracting, multiplying & dividing integers; and using the Distributive Property to simplify algebraic expressions. A test will be given on Friday the 18th.
