Extra Credit
Extra credit is accepted every Friday. Students will earn three points for each article that they turn in. If students complete the extra credit every week for nine weeks he or she will earn 55 extra credit points.
Extra Credit Procedures:
Students are to find a current event news article related to science, health or technology and hand write a short summary. The article must be from a newspaper, magazine or on-line resource within the last two weeks. The article and source must be submitted with the hand written summary. If a student is absent on Friday and the absence is excused he/she may submit the article on Monday, however the article must be dated for Friday or earlier. Plan ahead and do not wait until the last minute.
Additional extra credit assignments will not be offered if a student chooses to not complete the news articles. This is a great way to keep up with the ever changing world of science while earning a few extra ‘cushion’ points. I urge each and every student to take advantage of this opportunity.
