Week May 7-11, 2018

Students will finish practicing trig functions and a test will be on Wednesday. The test will cover measures of central tendency, midpoint and distance formulas, box-n-whiskers, and trig functions. Thursday and Friday of this week students will be introduced to special triangles: 45-45-90 and 30-60-90.

Week April 30-May 4, 2018

Students will work on graphing Box-N-Whisker plots and identifying all parts the part of the week. The middle and end of the week students will be using trigonometric identities to solve right triangles. Quizzes will follow each new topic learned.

Week April 23-27, 2018

Monday will be the last day of review before the EOC on Tuesday. Wednesday-Friday students will work with the distance formula and the midpoint formula. A quiz will be given on Friday after a short review.

Week April 16-20, 2018

Students are Math EOC reviewing the first part of the week. The end of the week students will learn how to find the distance and midpoint between any 2 ordered pairs. A quiz will be given after homework on finding distance and midpoint is complete.

Week April 9-13, 2018

This week we will be working on Histograms, Frequency Charts, Measures of Central Tendencies (mean, median, mode, and range) and Box-and-Whisker plots. EOC review will be on a daily bases each class period.

Week April 2-6, 2018

Students will be finishing a Practice EOC Test the first part of the week during class time. Mid-week, we will go over the test taken on March 28th and re-test on Friday.

Week March 23-30, 2018

Students will finish learning and using the Quadratic Formula to solve quadratic equations. They will review all methods (graphing, taking the square root, completing the square, factoring and the Quadratic Formula) of solving quadratic equations and  test on Wednesday. Thursday they will begin a Practice EOC test and finish on Monday, April 2, 2018.

Week March 19-23, 2018

Students will continue solving quadratic functions this week: solving by factoring, solving by completing the square and solving by using the Quadratic Formula. Quizzes will be given after each topic and a test will given after all topics are covered.

Week March 5-9, 2018

Monday is the unit Test over Polynomials. Beginning on Tuesday, students will solve quadratic equations by graphing, factoring, completing the square and the quadratic formula. Solving quadratic equations by graphing and factoring will be this week. A quiz will be given after each topic is covered and homework is given.

Week February 26-March 2, 2018

Students will learn how to factor special cases and learn how to factor the sum and differences of cubes this week. A review of all types of factoring, GCF, and multiplying polynomials will be Thursday and Friday of this week in order to get ready for the Unit Test over Polynomials.

Week February 19-23, 2018

Students are continuing to factor polynomials this week: quadratics and cubes.
They will quiz after each new factor assignment and test over all factoring the end of the week.

Week February 12-16, 2018

Students will learn how to factor quadratic polynomials this week. We will begin with factoring quadratic polynomials with a leading coefficient of 1, then with a leading coefficient greater than 1. Students will learn to factor special cases: difference of squares and perfect squares that are quadratic polynomials. We will also look at factoring polynomials by grouping. A quiz will be given after each topic is covered.

Week February 5-9, 2018

Wednesday - Friday, students will  classify polynomials by the number of terms and by the degree of the polynomial. They will add and subtract polynomials along with factoring out the Greatest Common Factor (GCF) of each polynomial. Students will also multiply polynomials this week.

Week January 29-February 2, 2018

Students will continue learning exponent rules for Algebra this week: exponents raised to exponents, rules for how to handle exponents in division problems, and how to deal with exponents in scientific notation. We will review all exponent rules and Test the end of the week.

Week January 22-26, 2018

Review and Test on Unit 7 on Monday and Tuesday of this week. Students will begin learning exponent rules on Wednesday: zero exponent, negative exponent, and what to do with exponents when multiplying with like bases. Worksheets will be given after each topic is covered and a quiz will be given after worksheets are complete.
