Last month, Principal Chasity Lowery challenged students to improve their attendance & grades and offered an exciting incentive if they met the goal. On Friday, February 28, Harriman High School loaded up 135 students and 23 faculty and staff members and headed to the Women's Basketball Hall of Fame!
First and foremost, thank you to everyone who helped make this trip possible for our students. It was an incredible experience, filled with rich history and hands-on activities. A special thank you to our very own Hall of Famer, Mrs. Carolyn Roddy, for helping to arrange this trip for us!
Students had a blast playing basketball, participating in a scavenger hunt through the museum, and watching a short film about women's basketball. This trip was not only a celebration of their hard work but also a meaningful way to recognize Black History Month, honoring the contributions of Black women in sports and their impact on history.
Because our students stepped up to meet this challenge and truly showed their Blue Devil PRIDE, we hope to have more trips like this in the future!
